Jigmastas - Beyond Real 1996 (DVD Video Rip)

Since '96, Brooklyn's DJ Spinna and MC Kriminal have been turning out fresh underground hip hop of the highest caliber. The Jigmastas debuted with their first official 12" "Beyond Real" on their self titled label "Beyond Real Recordings" in 1996. They had actually appeared on two compilations prior to their debut 12" in '94 & '95 but they're mostly known for their "Beyond Real" record; Bomb Hip Hop in 1994 & Blackmarket Unreleased in 1995, one track on each to be exact. But back to "Beyond Real" this is the joint that made them bigger on the underground scene. They also recorded a video for it which i'm bringing to you today. I got it a while back, can't remember where.. It was titled as a dvdrip even though I don't know what dvd it could have been from. The video quality is top notch though. I'll give it 10 for an 90's underground video quality. I think that it's pretty rare to find. I also included the full 12" rip of "Beyond Real" below the video download. Enjoy,

Deadly Venoms - Venoms Everywhere (CD Single) 2000

The Deadly Venoms was an all-female hip hop supergroup which consisted of N-Tyce, Finesse, J-Boo, & Champ MC that was also wu-affliated. N-Tyce is mostly known for "Hush Hush Tip" track with Method Man which was released in 1993 on Wild Pitch Records. Next we have Finesse (formely of Finesse & Synquis) who released "Soul Sisters" in 1988. After that we have J-Boo and finally.. Champ MC who released her first album titled "Ghetto Flava" in 1994. The Deadly Venoms had trouble releasing their first two albums, they both ended up being shelved. A few rare advance promo copies exist though. Today, I'm bringing your their first single titled "Venom Everywhere" off the unreleased "Pretty Thugs" album from 2000. The beat is bangin'(wu-signature beat) and it's great to hear veteran female emcees on the mic. Peep the video below. Enjoy,

Crusaders For Real Hip Hop - We Love The Hotties (Remix) VLS 1993

Before I start writing a description, i want to say R.I.P Tony D. In 1992, Tony D formed a group called Crusaders For Real Hip Hop right after his first solo album. Their album was titled "Deja Vu - It's '82" and released on Profile Records. Today, I'm bringing you their second 12" off the album which features four tracks; an album version, 2 remixes, and one that was previously unreleased. The 12"s starts off with the remix version of "We Love The Hotties". This remix clearly shows that Tony D was a genius on the production tip. It sounds way ahead of its time and is clearly better than the original which was already dope! Next we have a previously unreleased track titled "La Cosa Nostra" which wasn't included on their album. It then follows with May I Continue (Remix). The B-Side has that 90's rough flavor to it. This is another perfect 12" to own, everything you could of have was included! Enjoy,

The Meters are one of those groups that turned me into a compulsive collector of late 60s/early-to-mid 70s soul-funk and jazz-funk. After hearing "Cissy Strut" for the first time, I was hooked, and I made it a point to track down everything in their instrumental discography. I'll be compiling at least six volumes worth of Meters samples over the course of the next month, so check back on a regular basis.
